This is great. I've found that I've turned being creative into a habit lately. I can't write something new, for instance, without reading advice on writing from my favorite author. It gets me in the mood to work and forces me to be original each time.

Interesting! I've had lots of fun with How to Have Creative Ideas. I am doing a minor presentation on a creativity technique this Monday, and PO or the Random Word Technique would be ideal.

Creativity blockage?
Try this: Go out on a busy street and shout our own name as loud as you possibly can!

.
No, that's not really necessary. (But it might very well help!) The main principle is: DO SOMETHING THAT YOU HAVE NEVER DONE BEFORE IN YOUR LIFE!

This can be something small, or something big. It doesn't really matter, as long as you go for something really unique.

Your brain will literally be forced to create new neural connections - which will trigger an explosion of creativity!

That's basically the secret of the creation of my new online magazine www.ultrafeel.tv

You're right, I've never done that in my entire life! But it's an interesting though. Gerald Haman of Solution People (an innovation firm in the US) has a similar technique. He makes people do karaoke!

Daniel Sitter, Idea Seller

Katie, your approach to creativity always amazes me. You have such energy and unique ideas!

To stir my creative writing juices, I have found three methods that usually work well:

1. Change my physical location to something quite different.
2. Change my mindset. I usually do this through diverse conversations and/or cruising the blogosphere.
3. Examine my varied interests or things that I have never been interested in.

I am fortunate in that each day affords me new adventures in selling and many opportunities to meet new people in a variety of circumstances, thus furnishing me with countless ideas!

Congratulations on your recent award!

Hi Daniel, Looks like you found some creativity methods that work well for you. I think that's what it's all about... finding a style that fits your own particular mindset.

That's one thing I love about creativity: there are tons of correct ways to be creative.
